Salary/ Hourly rate: £12.36-£12.87 Depending on experience

ARC is recruiting on behalf of our client for Waking Night Support Workers within a local 4 bedded children’s home that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people with social, emotional, mental health and behaviour difficulties. We are looking for full time experienced individuals that can showcase resilience and will be able to manage challenging behaviour in a caring and considered manner and who want to make a positive impact and be part of the brilliant staff team.

The role

We are seeking dynamic and eager individuals to help support and nurture the children cared for. You will need to be considerate, adaptable and resilient where no two days will be the same.

At the heart of what you do is the ethos that children and young people feel safe, protected, and loved.

Monitor and maintain the safety of the home overnight, supported with a sleep-in member of staff, proactively support the children overnight when required, maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the home. Support in any behaviour management overnight and liaise with the on-call manager as required and provide clear handovers to the team in the morning for any follow up support required.

Role Responsibilities

To ensure the care given to the young people reflects the purpose
To provide advise and guidance to the young people and role model good practice always
To empower young people in positive decision making
To support care planning and behaviour management within the home
To ensure all events and incidents are logged and reported correctly
To demonstrate commitment to personal development and undertake any relevant training
To effectively be able to lone work and affectively lead the night shift, manager any incidents that may occur with support from the on-call manager

Essential Skills

Well-developed written and verbal communication
Behaviour management skills and Knowledge of safeguarding
Ability to manage unexpected situations
Driving licence

Desirable Skills

Level 3 Diploma in Children’s workforce (or willing to undertake this qualification)
