Kelwel Care are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team in one of our residential children’s home based in Dunmow essex.

* Communicating effectively with children and young people and understand and empathise with their needs

* Communicate effectively with multi agencies within the social care sector, ensuring the transparency of the company is delivered consistently throughout the company.

* Offering advice, guidance and signpost to other organisations they can access.

* A good understanding of current government legislation.

* Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour.

* Knowledge of the main issues effecting young people today.

* Supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

* Helping promote a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for the young people.

* Providing practical and emotional support to young people.

* Demonstrating empathy, compassion, resilience and positive parenting skills even under challenging conditions.

* Work closely with young people, their families and professionals.

* Organising and facilitating social activities and health appointments.

* Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning, shopping etc.).

* You MUST be organised, committed and passionate about the work you do.

Candidate Qualities & Requirements

* All applicants must have a valid full manual UK/EU driving licence and be over the age of 21 (in accordance with The Children’s Homes England) Regulations 2015).

* A-Level or equivalent (Preferred)

* Experience of working or engaging young people

* Level 3 Diploma (QCF/NVQ3) in Childcare and Young People (we will provide this if necessary)
