Virtual School Officer
London
Up to £200 per day/Inside IR35
Initial 4 month contract
Onsite – 2 days in the office 3 days in schools across the borough

I’m currently working with a Council in London that are seeking an experienced and dedicated Virtual School Officer until the end of the academic year. You will be reporting into the Head of Virtual School.

As a Virtual School Officer, your primary focus will be to provide expert advice, strategies, and interventions to promote the overall well-being and academic success of students within the Virtual School.

This a fantastic opportunity for an education specialist who has an innovative approach to delivering quality, and effective Education services.

Your responsibilities as Virtual School Officer: -  

Manage a caseload of Looked After Children (LAC) and Care Leavers aged 4-18 , focusing on improving their admissions, attendance, attainment, and progress through the delivery and monitoring of high-quality Personal Education Plans (PEPs) and their action plans.
Support and advise LAC and Care Leavers, as well as collaborate with social workers, personal advisors, carers, and schools, to ensure the fulfilment of their responsibilities in enhancing the educational experiences and outcomes of these children and young people.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of policies, procedures, and training programs aimed at school staff, social workers, foster carers, and other key stakeholders involved in the care and education of LAC and Care Leavers.
Facilitate and promote enrichment and extra-curricular learning opportunities specifically tailored to meet the needs of LAC and Care Leavers within and outside the borough.
Foster and maintain proactive, effective partnerships with various agencies and organizations both within and external to the borough to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive support network for LAC, previously LAC, and Care Leavers.
Your previous experience as Virtual School Officer: -  

You will have a proven track record of working within a Virtual School or who has been a designated teacher within a school for Looked after Children.
Have a Virtual School background and practical knowledge.
Background working with vulnerable children
Have experience providing one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them build resilience, coping strategies, and social skills.
