Exciting Opportunity for RVN Covering Maternity Leave in SW London

Are you an experienced RVN seeking a temporary role with potential for extension? We have a fantastic opportunity for an RVN to cover maternity leave from mid-July 2024 onwards at a reputable independent practice in SW London. Here's what you need to know about the role:

Position Details:

Duration: Initially a 6-month contract with the potential for extension if the staff member does not return after maternity leave.
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9am 6pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Flexible hours available for those seeking less than 40 hours per week.
Saturday Shifts: Expected to work one Saturday shift per month from 9am to 1.30pm. Time in lieu or extra pay offered for Saturday morning shifts.
Role: Primarily surgery/medical nursing with some nurse consultations involved.

Candidate Requirements:

UK RVN preferred, but other qualified veterinary nurses willing to sit OSCEs to become registered will be considered.
Ideally one-year qualified with paid work experience.
Salary: £30,000 for 40 hours per week. Newly qualified candidates will receive a lower starting salary depending on experience. Experienced candidates (>1 year) may receive higher remuneration.

Benefits:

Annual Leave: 10 days if staying for 6 months, plus bank holidays (pro rata). If staying longer than 6 months, annual leave increases to 20 days per year.
CPD Allowance provided.

About the Practice:

Small animal independent practice in SW London.
Dynamic team consisting of three vets, three RVNs (you would be covering the third RVN), one SQP, and three VCAs/nurse support staff.
Fully equipped practice with in-house MiLab blood machines, IV fluid pumps, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, and ultrasound.
Experience in exotics (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets) not essential but welcomed.

Usual Day:

One vet consults all day, while the other conducts a mix of consults and surgeries.
Three to four procedures/surgeries booked each day.
Two RVNs manage surgery and medical patients, supported by reception and office staff.
