Description:

Veterinarian. Mountains, Rivers & Real Balance. British Columbia, Canada £53k-£64k DOE

Imagine a veterinary career where the clinic is busy, but the lifestyle still feels balanced. Where the team works hard, supports each other properly, and leaves the drama at the door. Where your mornings involve good medicine and your evenings can involve rivers, mountains, skiing, hiking, or simply switching off on time

Welcome to Kettle River Veterinary Services.

A busy, community-focused small animal practice in beautiful British Columbia where the medicine is varied, the team genuinely supports each other, and life outside of work still matters.

This is the kind of clinic many vets hope to find but rarely do. No corporate conveyor belt. No toxic clinic politics. Just a hardworking, down-to-earth team that enjoys what they do and genuinely looks out for one another.

They’re looking for a full-time small animal veterinarian to join their friendly team of two vets, experienced RVTs, assistants, and reception staff. Whether you’re an experienced vet wanting a better lifestyle, or a newer graduate looking for proper mentorship and support, we’d love to hear from you.

What the role looks like:

* Monday to Friday, 8 am–5 pm with a proper lunch break.

* No weekends.

* Shared after-hours rota with sensible support and flexibility.

* Tuesday off after on-call weekends.

* Busy and varied caseload with no “slow season.”

* Routine consults, surgery, dentals and medical workups.

* Mentorship and support tailored to your experience level.

The clinic is well-equipped with digital x-ray, in-house blood machines, therapeutic laser and ultrasound, giving you everything you need to practice good quality medicine.

The practical bits:

* CAD $100K–$120K base salary depending on experience.

* Monthly performance bonus.

* Paid CE and licensing.

* Flexible holiday allowance starting at 3 weeks.

* Work clothing allowance.

* Temporary accommodation available initially.

* Future buy-in opportunities considered for the right person.

The lifestyle side of things.

Grand Forks is one of those places people move to for a year and somehow never leave. Set between mountains and rivers in sunny British Columbia, it’s ideal for people who love the outdoors and a genuine sense of community. Summers are filled with hiking, biking, kayaking and lazy afternoons floating down the river, while winters bring skiing, snowmobiling, curling and cross-country adventures.

The USA border is minutes away, the Rocky Mountains are perfect for weekend escapes, and Kelowna, with its international airport, wineries, restaurants and shopping, is only a couple of hours down the road.

So, what’s next?

If you've read this so far and something feels right, that's probably worth exploring. Please get in touch.

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad, so ask any questions. We’re far more interested in the person behind it.

Bring your skills, your sense of humour, and your love of good medicine; we’ll provide the support, the lifestyle, and the community to match
