Hours: Mon-Fri 8.00am-5.30pm

Contract: PERMANENT

We have an opportunity for a vehicle technician to join a busy talented team which are based in Wells. This will be a permanent contract for the successful candidates. My client is an independent family run garage working in a modern facility. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody looking to develop a career within a well-established, prosperous company.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

You will be responsible for repairs on all makes and models of vehicles. This will include cam belts, gear boxes, clutches, exhausts and tyres alongside other daily car maintenance duties. Welding, Component replacement, electrical repair, and overhaul. MOT testing would be an advantage but not essential. You will also need excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills and have a good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. You must have the initiative and ability to work without supervision. You must be able to work to deadlines in a safe working environment, and keep work areas clean, tidy, organised, and safe from hazards to health and safety. Be able to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers at all levels in a polite and efficient manner.

Who we will consider for this role

You must have the skill and knowledge to service and repair motor vehicles. You must be a qualified Vehicle Technician with a formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds/ NVQ 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification) although level 2 will be considered. You must hold a driving Licence.
