Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a worldwide Defence business recruit a Vehicle Mechanic for their welcoming and inclusive team. This full-time role is based at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire, but covering 3 different MOD sites across within a 20 mile radius. The role offers a salary of £43,500 per annum and excellent benefits.
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will support onsite customer equipment failure inspection, diagnosis, repairs, and warranty work. You'll also perform diagnostic tests and repair of military vehicles and equipment, onsite and in the field, in compliance with technical service and statutory regulations.

Diagnostics, maintenance and repair of military vehicles and equipment, on-site and in the field, in compliance with company technical service and statutory regulations.
Compliance with and monitoring of statutory regulations, in particular those involving safety at work and environmental protection
Responsibility for the preparation of safe and compliant work sites, tools and materials
Generation of work breakdown structures, cost estimates, and performance specifications
Independent management of a facility in collaboration with a technical team
Delivery of training tasks, internally and externally, with the customer community
To apply for this Vehicle Mechanic role, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:
Experience in vehicle inspection, maintenance & repair, ideally in the field of military equipment, heavy commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery or specialist vehicle manufacture
Experience in completion of relevant technical documentation and paperwork as dictated by industry
Skills and experience in the operation of automotive diagnostic equipment, diagnostic fault finding, and troubleshooting
Possess a C&G Heavy Vehicle Repair Level 3 or equivalent and test authorisation for technical tests specified by the statutory authoritiesIdeally experieced in Military vehicle technical maintenance, recent exposure to electronic fleet management systems and a Class C (HGV2) license but not essential
