VAT Consultant \|£400 per day \| Bromsgrove
We’re looking for a VAT expert to utilise their VAT expertise across two local authorities.
You’ll be the go-to person for VAT, advising teams on projects, property, grants and contracts. You’ll help the councils stay compliant, maximise VAT recovery and manage risk.
The role
You’ll provide expert VAT advice across the councils, prepare and review VAT returns and partial exemption calculations, and advise on projects, property, contracts and grants. You’ll keep up to date with VAT legislation and HMRC guidance, support audits and HMRC queries, identify VAT savings and risks, and provide guidance and training to colleagues.
About you
We’re looking for someone with strong VAT advisory experience and good knowledge of VAT in local government. You’ll have experience with VAT returns and partial exemption, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to explain complex VAT clearly. You’ll also be confident working independently and have good Excel and financial reporting skills.
MUST: You’ll need ACCA, CIPFA, ACA or an equivalent VAT qualification.
