Utility Surveyor
East Anglia | £32,000 – £36,000 + Package
East Anglian Site Engineering (EASE) is a well established site engineering and surveying business supporting construction and infrastructure projects across East Anglia.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking to expand our surveying capabilities and establish a dedicated Utility Surveying offering. We are therefore looking for an experienced Utility Surveyor to join the team and play a key role in developing this area of the business.
This is more than simply another surveying position. You will be joining at an early stage in the development of our Utility Surveying department, giving you the opportunity to help shape how the service grows.
For the right person, there is genuine long-term potential to take on greater responsibility as the department develops, with the opportunity to progress towards a future Utility Manager / leadership position.
The Role
As Utility Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out underground utility surveys to PAS128 standards
* Using GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) and electromagnetic locating equipment to identify buried services
* Surveying and accurately recording utility positions using GNSS/GPS
* Working to varying client and PAS128 survey specifications
* Processing survey information and producing accurate CAD utility drawings
* Working independently across a variety of sites and projects
* Ensuring surveys are completed accurately, safely and to the required standard
* Potentially undertaking CCTV drainage surveys where required
* Travel across the East Anglia region to various sites in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
* At least 2–3 years' experience as a Utility Surveyor
* Good working knowledge of PAS128
* Strong experience using GPR
* Experience with electromagnetic utility detection equipment
* Competence using GNSS/GPS surveying equipment
* Ability to produce utility survey drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
* Ability to manage surveys independently from fieldwork through to final drawing
* Good communication skills and a professional approach
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
* Total Station experience
* CCTV drainage surveying experience
* Additional land or topographical surveying experience
