With over 150 years of heritage, the business has established its first international production site in one of its strongest markets. Following a £70m investment, the state-of-the-art facility has been transformed, doubling production capacity and introducing new equipment and automation.

As the site enters its next phase of growth, they are looking for an experienced Utilities Manager to take ownership of utilities, facilities and environmental performance, ensuring the reliable, compliant and efficient operation of the brewery.

The Utilities Manager Role

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll lead the utilities and facilities function, managing a small team and working closely with Engineering, Production and wider site stakeholders to improve reliability, drive efficiency and maintain high standards of safety and compliance.

You'll be responsible for:

*

Managing site utilities and facilities, including boilers, refrigeration, steam, water and compressed air.

*

Ensuring statutory compliance across utilities, health & safety and environmental standards.

*

Driving maintenance reliability, performance and continuous improvement.

*

Monitoring energy and water usage to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

*

Managing budgets, contractors and external suppliers.

*

Overseeing environmental compliance, waste management and sustainability initiatives.

*

Maintaining GMP, food safety, hygiene and audit standards.

*

Supporting and developing the engineering team.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Utilities Manager or engineering professional with a strong background in utilities and facilities management within manufacturing.

You'll ideally have:

*

Experience managing utilities and facilities within manufacturing, ideally FMCG, food or drink.

*

Strong technical knowledge of industrial utilities, including boilers, refrigeration, steam, compressed air and water systems.

*

Experience managing statutory compliance, health & safety and environmental standards.

*

A track record of improving reliability, reducing energy consumption and delivering cost savings.

*

Experience managing budgets, contractors and maintenance activities.

*

Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

What's on Offer?

*

£55,000 - £60,000 annual salary

*

5% annual bonus

*

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to buy 5 and sell 3

*

Pension scheme: 5% employee / 3% employer contribution

*

On-site gym, subsidised lunch and monthly beer shop allowance

*

EV salary sacrifice scheme, Cycle to Work, Costco membership and access to Bedford Blues and festival tickets

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a critical function within a major manufacturing operation, helping shape the site's utilities strategy, improve environmental and energy performance, and support the continued growth of a leading drinks business.
