User Experience Designer
Onsite 50 % London
Inside IR35 
12 Months contract

Experience Designers are pivotal in our dynamic team, dedicated to crafting world-class digital products and services. The role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of assigned work packages, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards. Key aspects of the role include:

Digital Product Design Expertise

- Deliver key digital product design projects under the guidance of Experience Design Leads and the Head of Experience Design.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to:
- Identify challenges and opportunities for the end-to-end user experience.
- Conduct research, design activities, and produce design artefacts.
- Contribute to a shared vision for the service experience.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams from discovery to delivery.

Time Management: Skilled in planning and prioritizing tasks to meet objectives.
Collaborative: Able to work with different disciplines to achieve common goals.

Communication: Strong storytelling and presentation skills, able to engage stakeholders effectively.
Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge in Visual Design and Interaction Design.
Computer Literacy: Proficient in basic MS Office applications and systems.
-Innovative: Able to approach challenges creatively and develop new solutions.

Key Knowledge

- Service Design: Strong understanding of the full service design process and how different activities and deliverables interact, from research findings to detailed design.
- Research and Design Methodologies: Proficient in a variety of human-centred research and design methodologies.
- Specializations: Expertise in one or more areas:
- Visual Design
- Interaction Design
- Design Research
- Project Delivery: Knowledge of project delivery methods, particularly Agile.
- Business Acumen: Familiarity with key business terminology and processes.
- Research Knowledge: Understanding of primary and secondary research approaches, such as surveys and desk research.

Key Experience

- Project Delivery: Experience in delivering complex service design projects within multidisciplinary teams.
- Hands-On Expertise: Significant experience in visual design, interaction design, or design research.
- Team Contribution: Proven track record in sharing knowledge, defining methodologies, producing reusable tools, and supporting colleagues.
- Technology Focus: Experience in delivering design work packages within a technology-focused organization is desirable.

Hands-On Expertise
- Visual Design and Interaction Design
- Front-end coding and rapid prototyping experience is a plus.

 Key Accountabilities

- End-to-End Delivery :Responsible for delivering specified work packages, working with stakeholders and teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards. Responsibilities include:
- Visual Design: Sketching, creating mock-ups, developing design standards and guidelines, delivering design assets.
- Interaction Design: Mapping experiences, creating wireframes, user journeys, and prototypes at various levels of fidelity and interactivity.
- Design Research Reviewing existing research, planning and conducting primary research, and user testing activities.
- Development of Design Excellence: Apply advanced design methodologies to develop strategies and principles that align with and complement organizational goals.
- Stakeholder Consultation: Provide expert guidance to stakeholders, helping shape visions, providing design narratives, and maximizing customer satisfaction through testing and acceptance processes.
- Roadmap Development: Offer design insights to product managers to ensure roadmaps reflect user needs and behaviors, considering user needs that may not be explicitly defined.
- Team Development: Contribute to the design team’s growth by managing knowledge effectively.
- Demonstrating Design Value: Showcase the value of excellent design to stakeholders through innovative demos and prototypes, gaining advocacy and investment from key groups.
- Collaboration: Work with various roles and teams, including Product Owners, Agile Development Leads, Testers, Solution Architects, Data Architects, Scrum Masters, Business Architects, Development Teams, Commercial Teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring requirements align with technical strategies and budget constraints, considering total cost of ownership
