Salary: £41,500 per annum (£18.80 per hour)
Are you an experienced Upholsterer looking to work on high-end bespoke furniture for some of London's most prestigious commercial fit-out projects?
A leading specialist fit-out manufacturer based in Basildon is looking to recruit a skilled Upholsterer to join their experienced Upholstery team. Working in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, you'll produce bespoke upholstered furniture and interiors to the highest standards for luxury commercial environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Furniture Upholsterer or Reupholsterer with knowledge of both modern and traditional upholstery techniques to join a well-established business offering long-term stability, excellent benefits and regular overtime.
What's on offer
£41,500 per annum (£18.80 per hour)
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Regular overtime available
25 days' holiday plus bank holidays (including Christmas shutdown)

The role
As an Upholsterer, you'll manufacture and restore high-quality bespoke furniture, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the production process.
Your responsibilities will include:
Stripping and preparing furniture for upholstery and reupholstery
Measuring, templating and cutting fabrics and leather hides
Shaping foam and preparing frames using springs, webbing and upholstery materials
Applying buttons, piping, facings, decorative studs and other finishing details
Reading and working from technical drawings and production specifications
Producing high-quality upholstered furniture to exact customer specifications
Identifying and reporting any production or design issues
Supporting continuous improvement across the upholstery department
Assisting with occasional site installations when required
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
What we're looking for
Proven experience as an Upholsterer, Furniture Upholsterer or Reupholsterer
Experience with both modern and traditional upholstery techniques
City & Guilds or equivalent upholstery qualification is desirable
Skilled working with a wide variety of fabrics, leather and upholstery materials
Ability to read and interpret technical and production drawings
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Cutting and sewing experience would be advantageous
