SEND Teaching Assistant - Urgently Needed
Are you passionate about positively impacting the future of children through their academic learning? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join a superb SEND school in the Welwyn Garden City area as a SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 08:30 am to 4 pm, where you will provide 1:1 support.
Prior experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant would be preferable, but experience working with children in some capacity (in the UK) where you can obtain a reference for this is required.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work alongside teachers and colleagues to foster a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment for all children.
Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group assistance to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them feel supported and confident in their learning.
Help plan and deliver educational activities both inside and outside the classroom.
Encourage pupils to participate in lessons, build their confidence and develop their skills, helping them make progress towards their individual learning goals.Requirements:
Able to work Monday to Friday, 08:30 am to 4 pm
Have prior experience working with children; preferably, must have experience with children in some capacity
Comfortable providing support for SEND children on a 1:1 level
Have or be willing to obtain a Child and Adult DBS
