About the Role

A welcoming secondary school in Braintree is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time, permanent position, working closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of abilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide in-class support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
Work 1:1 and with small groups, including students with SEN
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Support students with additional learning needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
Help manage behaviour positively and effectively
Encourage student independence and confidence
Support with preparation of resources and classroom organisation

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Previous experience working with young people (school-based or similar)
A strong interest in education and supporting student development
A patient, proactive, and flexible approach
Good communication and relationship-building skills
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Experience supporting SEN students (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
