Job Title: Insurance Underwriter
Salary: £25,000 to £30,000  DOE +  Annual bonus
Location: Bishop’s Stortford
Term: Permanent
 
Our client is a leading provider of insurance solutions committed to delivering exceptional service and coverage to their clients.  They are not in the motor insurance sector and this is not a call centre environment.
 
My client, whose head office is in the city, has an opportunity for an Insurance Underwriter to join their busy and friendly team where they will offer full training for the right candidate, however,  you must possess some previous insurance experience. 
 
As well as some previous insurance experience, the key attribute that my client is looking for is an outgoing and engaging personality.  You will be forging close working relationships with insurance brokers  so you must be confident, hardworking and enthusiastic with ideally some previous office experience and the ability and willingness to learn.
 
The role of  Insurance Underwriter -  

Reviewing insurance applications and assessing the risk factors associated with each application
Analysing application information, including financial documents, medical records etc
Calculating premiums based on risk assessment
Issuing documents eg renewal documents and renewal terms
Managing queries
Liaising and collaborating with insurance agents and brokers to gather information and clarify policy details.
Working with a variety of different clients, brokers and industries To be considered for the role of Trainee Insurance Underwriter:

Previous experience within any insurance environment is essential 
An outgoing and engaging personality is essential
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions
Strong written and spoken communication skills in the English language
Possess good IT skills, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and ability to use or learn their in-house system
Hardworking
Enthusiastic
Possess excellent customer service skills
Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, pay close attention to detail and work in a logical and thorough manner
Team player The package for the role of Insurance Underwriter
 
£25,000 - £30,000 depending on previous experience + Bonus
Hours:  Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.  This is a full-time office based role
