Our client is a growing specialist property lender providing bridging finance solutions to property investors, developers, and professional borrowers across England and Wales.

With lending volumes continuing to increase, they are looking to strengthen their underwriting team with an individual who enjoys taking ownership of deals and working closely with introducers throughout the lending journey.

???? The Opportunity

This is a hands-on underwriting role where you'll take responsibility for managing bridging cases from initial enquiry through to completion and redemption.

You'll work directly with brokers, borrowers, valuers, solicitors, and internal stakeholders to assess opportunities, structure deals, and ensure a smooth customer experience throughout the process.

This role would suit someone who enjoys making commercial lending decisions, building broker relationships, and working within a fast-moving specialist finance environment.

???? Key Responsibilities

Deal Assessment & Underwriting

* Review and assess bridging loan applications

* Analyse security properties, borrower profiles, and exit strategies

* Assess lending proposals against risk appetite and policy

* Structure deals and provide recommendations for approval

* Identify risks and mitigants across each transaction

End-to-End Case Management

* Manage applications from enquiry through to drawdown

* Liaise with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and borrowers

* Coordinate valuations, legal processes, and completion requirements

* Ensure all lending conditions are satisfied before completion

* Maintain accurate records and case documentation

Post-Completion Management

* Monitor live cases and ongoing portfolio activity

* Manage redemptions, extensions, and variations where required

* Maintain communication with brokers and borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle

* Escalate risks and manage exceptions appropriately

Broker & Relationship Management

* Build strong relationships with brokers and introducers

* Deliver exceptional service levels throughout the customer journey

* Act as a trusted lending partner for external stakeholders

* Support repeat business through consistent communication and delivery

✅ Requirements

Essential

* Experience underwriting bridging finance, development finance, specialist mortgages, or secured lending

* Strong understanding of property-backed lending

* Experience managing cases through completion

* Ability to assess risk while maintaining a commercial mindset

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Desirable

* Experience handling both pre- and post-completion processes

* Existing exposure to bridging finance

* Experience working with brokers and property professionals

* CeMAP or relevant financial services qualifications
