About the Role
Reeson Education is looking to recruit experienced and passionate Qualified Teachers (QTS) to join our growing Outreach provision, supporting children and young people across North London.
We work closely with Local Authorities to provide personalised, one-to-one tuition for children and young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education or require additional educational support.
Our placements vary from 1 to 20 hours per week, depending on the individual learner's requirements. Tuition schedules are arranged around the needs and availability of the young person and their family, with opportunities for tutors to consider placements that suit their existing commitments.
Tuition may take place in family homes, community settings or other agreed educational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, personalised one-to-one tuition in line with each learner's abilities and educational needs.
Support children and young people with a range of needs, including SEN, SEMH, anxiety, school avoidance and gaps in education.
Adapt teaching approaches to encourage engagement, build confidence and support academic progress.
Develop positive and trusting relationships with learners who may have experienced disruption to their education.
Work collaboratively with families, Local Authorities and the Reeson Outreach team.
Complete regular progress reports and provide feedback on attendance, engagement and attainment.
Where appropriate, support learners with gradual transitions into community-based education or reintegration into school.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Experience teaching within a UK school or alternative education setting.
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and ability to adapt learning to individual needs.
A patient, flexible and supportive approach.
