Primary: Numeracy and Literacy

Secondary: Maths, English and Science (You don’t necessarily have to teach all)

Key responsibilities:

● Creating lesson plans tailored to the student's learning style

● Assessing student progress, identifying areas for improvement and recording attainment levels using our internal reporting system

● Deliver engaging sessions to support a range of learning styles

● Drive measurable outcomes from each session to measure impact

● Work collaboratively with educational/care stakeholders ensuring student support.

● Working in accordance with the KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines.

Desired experience:

● Experienced in tutoring one to one or small groups of pupils who require additional educational or pastoral support

● Experience in taking supervision and correction constructively

● Experience working in inclusion units, special settings or alternative provisions

● Experience in working with students with SEN, children with undiagnosed SEN, disengaged young people or looked after children

Responsibilities:

● Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s) and build a curriculum, creating lesson plans individual to the student's learning style

● Assessing student progress, identifying areas for improvement and recording attainment levels using our internal reporting system

● Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks

● Assisting students in understanding key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom

● Contribute to students' learning, growth and advancement

● Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice

● Work collaboratively with schools, foster carers and social workers in order to ensure the student receives tailored support

● Working in accordance with the KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines

Essential qualities:

● Inspirational, effective & flexible communications skills

● Competent IT skills, access to laptop/computer, audio and visual

● Stable broadband & internet connection

● Ability to develop meaningful relationships, encourage and motivate students
