Are you an experienced Transportation Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator or Import/Export Coordinator with a background in international logistics?
Do you have experience coordinating inbound shipments, working with freight forwarders and ensuring goods move smoothly through customs and arrive at their destination on time?
We're supporting a global manufacturing organisation in Petersfield who are looking to recruit 2 Transportation Coordinators to join their Supply Chain team on an initial 4-month fixed-term contract.
This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on logistics experience who can hit the ground running within a busy, international supply chain environment.
What's the role all about?
As a Transportation Coordinator, you'll help coordinate inbound shipments across EMEA and the UK, including materials moving into manufacturing facilities and third-party manufacturing sites.
You'll take ownership of the track and trace process from origin through to final delivery, working closely with planners, freight forwarders, carriers, customs agents and destination sites.
A big part of the role is spotting potential delays before they become a problem, ensuring import and export documentation is accurate and keeping everyone updated on the progress of priority shipments.
What will you be doing?
Coordinate inbound transportation across UK and EMEA manufacturing locations
Track and trace shipments from origin through to final delivery
Plan and execute inbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery
Work closely with freight forwarders, carriers, handling agents, customs teams and internal planners
Identify potential transportation delays and proactively coordinate solutions
Ensure import and export documentation is accurate and complete
Help prevent shipments being delayed or held within customs
Coordinate the movement of components and finished materials
Prioritise shipments based on requirements at destination sites
Arrange freight capacity and book trucks for daily transportation requirements
Ensure priority shipments are loaded and dispatched in line with agreed schedules
Monitor and verify inbound product balances
Ensure transportation and EDI information is accurately reflected within internal systems
Produce and monitor daily logistics KPIs
Respond to queries and coordinate with the appropriate internal teams
Arrange special shipping requirements when necessary
Support transportation and supply chain improvement projects
What do you need?
We're looking for someone with:
Around 1–3 years' experience within transportation, freight forwarding, logistics or import/export
Experience coordinating international shipments
Good understanding of logistics and transportation processes
Knowledge of customs and import/export documentation
Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers or logistics providers
Strong organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Confidence working independently in a fast-changing environment
Excellent attention to detail
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
Strong written and verbal English
A commercial apprenticeship within Freight Forwarding/Logistics, Advanced Training in International Trade or equivalent practical experience would be beneficial.
