Transport Team Manager

Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum

We're recruiting for a Transport Team Manager to join a successful and well-established foodservice wholesaler and distributor based in Berkshire.
This is a hands-on management role for an experienced transport professional who enjoys leading people, maintaining high standards and ensuring a busy delivery operation runs safely and efficiently.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport team, working closely with drivers, planners, warehouse colleagues and management to deliver excellent service.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, motivating and supporting a team of drivers.
Managing daily transport operations and resolving issues quickly.
Monitoring driver performance, attendance, productivity and service levels.
Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, health and safety and company procedures.
Supporting route planning and efficient delivery operations.
Coaching and developing team members.
Monitoring transport KPIs and driving improvements where required.
Working closely with other departments to maintain a smooth operation.
About You
We're looking for a confident and organised transport professional with strong people-management skills.
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience in transport, logistics, FMCG, wholesale or distribution.
Experience managing or supervising drivers.
Good knowledge of transport compliance and operational procedures.
Strong communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, hands-on approach.
