The Staffing Network is a labour provider across the UK and we are working in a partnership with a market leading company who are looking for a Transport Support Operator.
We are recruiting for a Transport Support Operator on behalf of our Client based in Spalding.
Working hours: Day shift- 4 on 4 off 07:00 - 19:00
Pay Rate: £11.50p/h
Duties:
* Despatching outbound drivers, ensuring that correct paperwork is issued, and that all instructions regarding collections and deliveries are clear and understood.
* Monitoring of vehicle progress at all stages of its journey utilising appropriate systems of telephone.
* Ensuring any delays or issues potentially affecting performance are escalated appropriately
* Utilise customer or retailer systems to ensure that bookings are made, amended, or progress updated as necessary
* Assist in resolving operational issues as appropriate, liaising with drivers, customers, delivery points or other stakeholders as required.
* Collating and presenting KPIs or other operational information as directed to demonstrate performance and improvement opportunities
* Liaise with internal departments as required to ensure performance is optimised, including Warehouse, Finance, Fleet, KAMs
* Assist other operational departments as directed to ensure operational or legal compliance is to the highest standard. Examples may include assisting with vehicle downloads, vehicle condition checks, investigating incidents, dealing with vehicle breakdowns et
Qualifications:
* Experience of working with people.
* Experience of working to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
* Experience of using IT packages including Microsoft Office Word and Excel – intermediate skills.
* Experience of organising work activity.
Office working environment experience, ideally gained within an FMCG environment
* Experience of working in an administrative capacity
* Basic geographical knowledge of the United Kingdom
* Basic understanding of cost management
* Basic knowledge of FMCG or logistics industry
* Excellent customer understanding
* Critical information management skills
* Good relationship building skills
* Able to work on your own, or as part of a team
