Job Title: Transport Supervisor

Location: Northampton

Hours: 9-6 Monday-Friday. There may be a need to cover early/late shifts when required.

Brook Street are recruiting for an experienced and forward-thinking transport supervisor to join our well-established client in Northampton. Our client has seen significant growth in the past few years and are looking for a dynamic transport supervisor to join them on their exciting journey of continuous growth.

As a Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the transport team, drivers and shunters, as well as all transportation activities, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of transportation logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure driver compliance is always met, including license checks and driver checks.
Manage Transport team relations and run an engaged and motivated team and manage monthly ream liaison meetings.
Deliver resource plans by managing the safe and cost-effective utilisation of equipment, working to decrease transport maintenance costs.
Assist to manage financial budget with the warehouse/transport manager.
Review operations hourly, daily, weekly and monthly and implement corrective action.
Closely monitor daily operations to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
Implement the required policies to ensure that business complies with all H&S and other statutory regulations.
Assist & closely monitor progress against key KP's ensuring the company achieves its set breakthrough objectives.
Ensure that all transport teams understand the company culture and ethos and act upon this daily.
Ensure the recruitment and retention of required numbers of motivated and trained staff to ensure the business objectives are achieved all within the set budget.
Ensure integration of both warehouse operations and transport operations to ensure all customer requirements are met.Experience/skills required

Proven experience in transportation management or supervision
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practice.
Proficient in using transportation management software (Ideally Haulier Magic)
Valid driving license
Proactive approach and forward thinking.
Ability to work under pressure.
Lean Six Sigma (Desirable)
CPC License (Desirable)
