Transport Supervisor

Description:

The Transport Supervisor is a permanent position and based at our clients site in Northampton. The Transport Supervisor has full responsibility to lead the Transport team, Drivers & shunters also having responsibility for BRC Certification, Quality Management System & Warehouse Ops

Execute the 1-year Strategy & Business Objectives   

Collaborate with Commercial Manager to ensure high utilisation of Warehouse Capacity & Vehicles

Deliver resource plans by managing the safe and cost-effective utilisation of equipment, working to decrease Transport maintenance costs.

Ensure all driver compliance is met, including required licence checks, and driver CPCs

Manage Transport Team relations and run an engaged and motivated driver team & create and manage monthly Transport colleague liaison meetings.

Assist to manage the departments financial budget with the Warehouse/Transport Manager

Implement & improve the new Warehouse Management System to improve the critical KPIs

Implement & improve a new Transport Management System to improve the critical KPIs

Assist & closely monitor progress against key KPIs ensuring company achieves its set breakthrough objectives. 

Closely monitor daily operations to ensure customer requirements achieved 

Review operations hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly and implement corrective action

Implement Continues Improvement System to Reduce Cost, Improve Quality, Improve OTD, Improve Morale & Support Growth

Implement the required polices to ensure the business complies with all H&S and other statutory regulations.

Ensure the recruitment & retention of required numbers of motivated & trained staff to ensure the business objectives achieved all within the set budget

Ensure integration of both Warehouse Operations & Transport Operations to ensure all customer requirements met 

Manage, remotely the shunting team

It is the responsibility of the Transport Supervisor to ensure:

The Quality Management System is implemented and managed effectively.
Information gathering and review.
Adherence to Internal, external & certification audits.
Leading a team in a Transport Operation and achieving breakthrough objectives
Transport Manager CPC Holder
A strong understanding on vehicle maintenance
Awareness of continuous improvements.
Awareness/training in Health and Safety
Computer Literate with knowledge of Microsoft office programmes and Warehouse & Transport Management Systems
Implementation of Transport Management System
Day to Day Set Up & implementation of Transport Operations.

Salary 34-40k Mon to Friday 8-5pm Excellent benefits
