Hours: 09:00 – 21:00
Contract: Permanent, Direct Employment
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Transport Supervisor to join a well-known and established transport and logistics company based in Redditch.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with transport, logistics or supervisory experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and professional operation.
Working as part of the transport management team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily transport operations, supporting drivers and maintaining high standards of service, safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising and coordinating day-to-day transport operations.
Managing and supporting a team of drivers and transport staff.
Ensuring vehicles and drivers are operating safely and efficiently.
Monitoring driver performance, attendance and compliance.
Supporting the planning and coordination of routes and deliveries.
Dealing with operational issues and resolving problems quickly and effectively.
Ensuring all transport legislation, company policies and procedures are followed.
Communicating effectively with drivers, management, customers and other departments.
Monitoring service levels and helping to maintain high customer satisfaction.
Completing relevant transport administration and operational records.
Supporting the Transport Manager with the overall running of the operation.
Taking responsibility for the operation during your shift and escalating issues where appropriate.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience within a transport, logistics or distribution environment.
Supervisory or team-leading experience.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
A good understanding of transport operations and driver management.
A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
Good IT and administrative skills.
The flexibility to work additional hours where required, particularly during the training period.
Flexibility will be required initially until you are fully trained and established in the role.
