My client is seeking an proactive Transport Planner to join their busy team in Belper supporting the wider central planning team. The purpose of the role will be to plan and execute collection and delivery schedules via the most cost-efficient means, in line with the business objectives, customer service levels and current legislative requirements.
Job Role:
* Make full use of all IT systems, TMS and customer portals to ensure efficient fleet (460 vehicles across 11 sites)
* Working in partnership with a team of central planners supporting in planning the companies fleet across all of their customers
* Fully utilise all vehicles to ensure accurate and appropriate allocation of drivers/vehicles/trailers/customer deliveries and backloads.
* Communicate and share plans to the depot transport team to deliver through efficiency and maintain customer service levels.
* Identify, communicate, and drive any continuous improvements to continually develop the operation of the business.
Experience/Skills required:
* Strong knowledge of the Highway Code, EU tachograph requirements, Working Time Regulations, Road Transport Regulations
* Working knowledge of transport operation systems
* Geographical knowledge
* Relevant transport and planning experience
* Analysing and solving logistic problems
