Transport Planner - Waste Management
Location: Bognor Regis
Salary: Up to £38,000 (DOE)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking for your next opportunity within the waste, recycling, aggregates or haulage sector?
We're working with an established business that is looking to add a Transport Planner to its operations team. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for keeping a busy fleet running efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety and compliance.

The Role:
You'll work closely with the transport and operations teams to coordinate a varied fleet across the Southern region, ensuring vehicles, drivers and customers are kept on track throughout the day.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning daily routes and allocating work across the fleet
Coordinating drivers and dealing with any issues throughout the day
Liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery
Monitoring drivers' hours and ensuring compliance with transport legislation
Recording and monitoring vehicle performance and safety information
Managing accident and incident reporting
Working closely with the Transport Manager regarding vehicle maintenance and driver availability
Helping to maintain a safe, efficient and compliant transport operation
About You:
We're looking for someone who understands the demands of a busy transport environment and can confidently manage multiple priorities.
Must have previous experience in transport planning, fleet coordination or a similar role
Good knowledge of drivers' hours and transport compliance
Experience working with or coordinating a vehicle fleet
A background in waste, recycling, construction, aggregates or bulk haulage
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
A good understanding of local geography
A full UK driving licenceExperience working with tippers, grab vehicles, roll-on/roll-off vehicles, skip loaders or artic operations would be advantageous.
