Transport Planner – Deeside
Salary: £30,000–£33,500 per year
Shift options: 05:00am – 14:00pm or 13:00pm – 22:00pm
Irlam Associates are recruiting a Transport Planner on behalf of an established transport and logistics business specialising in pallet distribution, general haulage and warehousing, based in Deeside.
This is a great opportunity for someone with transport planning experience to support the smooth running of daily operations, coordinating drivers and vehicles and ensuring deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and on time.
Key responsibilities:
* Plan and coordinate daily routes, deliveries and collections.
* Allocate drivers and vehicles to meet customer requirements and make efficient use of resources.
* Monitor transport activity and adjust plans to manage delays or changing priorities.
* Communicate with drivers, customers and warehouse teams to keep operations running smoothly.
* Support compliance with drivers’ hours and working time requirements.
* Maintain accurate transport records and provide clear shift handovers.
What we’re looking for:
* Previous experience in transport planning within a transport or logistics operation.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
* Confident communication and a practical approach to resolving operational issues.
* An understanding of drivers’ hours and transport compliance.
* Good IT skills, with experience using transport planning systems.
* Availability to work one of the advertised shifts.
