Transport Planner – PERMANENT – Southampton - £35,000 to £38.000 per annum

Job Title: Transport Planner

Location: Southampton, Hampshire

Salary: £35,000 to £38.000 per annum – depending on Experience.

Bonuses: £6.600 per year extra for on call bonus

Job Type: Fulltime permanent. (Shift pattern can be negotiated)

Hours: 0600am – 1800pm Rotational shifts / Weekend work 1 in 4 Saturday/Sunday ,ornings (additional payment provided)

Transport Planner - Requirements

* MUST have experience with Transport Planner role

* Proven experience in container haulage planning

* Proficient IT skills - experience using TOPS is a strong advantage.

* Route planning experience

* Use of computerised TMS plus other bolt-on variables to enable the management of other parts of our clients operation

* Ability to lead and mentor other planners with the team

* Proficient ability in using industry standard IT

* Flexibility to participate in on-call duties

* Strong team player with good communication -Ability to work under pressure

* A good Understanding of the local geographical area would be advantageous

* Experience in Planning / Routing and managing a fleet of vehicles.

* Can multi-Task and prioritise duties.

Transport Planner – Responsibilities

* Plan and allocate daily container haulage work across the company fleet.

* Managing the in-house systems and databases

* Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors.

* Managing and maintaining office files

* Ensuring high levels of customer service with their clients and ensuring a high level of performance is always maintained.

* Ensure that all jobs are documented correctly.

* Planning the workload daily for the site.

* Ensuring adherence to corporate policies as well as legal requirements for vehicle operations, health & safety, and other regulations.

* Routes must be planned in line with WTD

* Liaising with drivers and customers as appropriate

* Utilising drivers and vehicles for deliveries and pickups in an efficient manner
