The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to join a busy and growing transport operation in Milton Keynes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport professional looking to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a transport function, leading a team and ensuring high standards of compliance, safety and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day transport and logistics operation
Manage, lead and motivate the transport team
Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, company procedures and safety standards
Manage customer relationships and service levels
Plan and coordinate routes and vehicle utilisation
Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement
Produce and review transport and performance reports
Support the development of efficient and cost-effective transport processes
Ensure vehicles, drivers and transport activities remain compliant
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport/logistics role
A strong understanding of transport operations and compliance
Level 3 Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Transport Management
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Good attention to detail
The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
A proactive approach to improving operational performance
Approximately 2 year's transport management experience is preferred, although relevant experience and capability will be considered.
