Alexander Steele are delighted to be supporting an FMCG business with the recruitment of a newly created Logistics & Transport Manager position.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business and take ownership of the logistics operation, leading a team of drivers and logistics professionals while driving service, efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and develop the Logistics and Driving teams.
* Drive employee engagement, retention, training and performance.
* Ensure exceptional customer service and on-time delivery performance.
* Oversee route planning, resource allocation and operational scheduling.
* Manage fleet standards, vehicle compliance and health & safety requirements.
* Monitor and improve key logistics KPIs.
* Identify and implement process improvements across the operation.
* Build strong working relationships across the wider business to enhance operational performance.
About You
* Proven experience within Logistics, Transport or Distribution Management.
* Previous experience leading and developing teams.
* Strong understanding of route planning, fleet management and operational logistics.
* A hands-on leader who enjoys being close to the operation.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.
* Experience driving continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
* Transport, FMCG, food manufacturing or distribution experience would be advantageous
