Client Details
Michael Page Logistics have partnered with a leading distribution business providing niche products and materials along with first class delivery services with depots across the UK in their search for a Transport Administrator. The role is a newly created role, part of their expansion plans to support the busy transport team. The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm.
Description
The Transport Administrator will be responsible for the following
Processing paperwork e.g. booking in deliveries, booking on courier orders, printing delivery notes for drivers.
Speaking to both sites (customers) and drivers to ensure the vehicles are offloaded in a timely manner
Chasing drivers for ETA's and making customers and sales aware
Liaising with all departments and depots to keep them informed of issues
Escalate any delivery issues to planning team or management.
Assisting with the routing of trucks when required
Liaising with the sales teams in all four depots to ensure deliveries can be made.
Keeping sales updated on any site/delivery issues.
Update saved delivery addresses with any new relevant site info.
Develop strong working relationships and maintain regular contact with drivers.
Help maintain the EPOD system and chase drivers and sites for delivery accuracy.
Performs any other duties as directed.Profile
The successful Transport Admnistrator must have the following skills and experience;
Previous experience working in a transport/distribution department as an admin or clerk
Knowledge of transport compliance required
Excellent communication skills
Confident user of IT such as MS word and excelJob Offer
