Systems Training Manager
Location: Manchester
Contract: Inside IR35, 12 months
This role supports the delivery of a Flexible Learning Programme, a major strategic change initiative aimed at providing students with greater flexibility over their learning pace, place, and mode. The programme is transitioning to a new central learning environment, replacing Blackboard with Canvas in 2025, and implementing broader changes to teaching and learning software and business processes. The Systems Training Manager will lead the development and implementation of a training strategy and plan for this programme.
Overall Purpose of the Job
Responsible for leading and directing systems and process training to ensure the delivery and implementation of a comprehensive training strategy and plan. This includes designing and delivering training plans for staff and students, ensuring the use of the latest technologies and training concepts, and maintaining pedagogically suitable resources.
Person Specification
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience in planning, designing, and implementing large-scale systems and process training.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and their application in technical systems and process training.
- Skilled in a range of training interventions, including face-to-face and e-learning approaches.
- Experience in creating and applying assessment methods to ensure learning requirements are met.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders and manage several work streams simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management abilities.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively.
- High level of digital literacy and experience with relevant IT systems.
- Experience in customer-focused environments and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Significant experience and understanding of teaching and learning environments/tools.
- Knowledge of the latest technologies and industry practices in systems and process training.
- Understanding of the higher education sector and its specific challenges.
- Formal learning and development or training qualifications.
