Trainee Stone Mason / Stone Restorer
Our client are a specialist stonemasonry and restoration company based in Glasgow, dedicated to preserving Scotland’s architectural heritage. With a growing portfolio of conservation and restoration projects across the region, we are looking to invest in the next generation of skilled craftspeople.
The Role:
As a trainee, you’ll work alongside experienced stonemasons and restorers on a variety of sites, learning traditional techniques and modern methods of stone repair, carving, and conservation. This is a hands-on role offering structured on-the-job training and the opportunity to grow into a qualified tradesperson. Responsibilities:
• Assisting with stone repairs, replacements, and surface treatments
• Supporting site setup, tool preparation, and clean-up
• Learning and applying heritage restoration methods
• Working safely as part of a team on active construction and restoration sites
Requirements:
• Strong interest in heritage buildings, construction, or craft trades
• Willingness to learn and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
• No previous experience required – full training will be given
