Trainee Software Engineer

What will this role of Trainee Software Engineer entail:
* Reporting to the Design Team Manager, and working closely with our Senior Software Engineer, you will assist Engineering with the following tasks.
* Software – Investigate and resolve software problems in a range of technologies, Siemens and Omron PLC Ladder, C#, always working with a view to becoming a proficient Systems programmer.
* Fault Diagnosis – Using Oscilloscopes, Multi-meters and PLC Software to diagnose and correct system faults.
* Drawing – Reading electrical drawings. Hardware Build – Assist in assembly of system components.
The Trainee Software Engineer person:
We are looking for a candidate with problem solving skills, a good grasp of maths, basic knowledge of electrical theory and some experience of programming, but most of all with a strong willingness to learn and develop these skills.
You will ideally have completed a BTEC National Diploma or equivalent and have the intent to progress to HNC/HND qualifications.
Our client is based in the St Ives area, transport would be required to get to the location.
