Description:
Due to expansion our client who is part of a global manufacturing company based in the Colchester area are looking to recruit a Trainee Service Engineer. Working within a small team of Service Engineers you will visit client sites to perform service work on the companies equipment. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering qualification, will want to use their hands on mechanical skills, have a full driving licence and will want to continue to develop their skills and knowledge.
The role:
Work as part of a team to complete Servicing, Routine Maintenance, Overhaul and Commissioning & Training on equipment use across a wide range of applications and industries.
Write detailed customer service reports with recommendations, produce quotes and liaise with customers to receive purchase orders.
Maintain strong customer relationships and seek out new potential customers
Manage orders for parts and general stock on company ERP system.
Gain an extensive working knowledge of industry standards and practices.
Write risk assessments & method statements for booked work.
Manage all aspects of booking jobs including weekly/monthly work diary, administration/report writing and travel arrangements.
Attend various training events including annual training provided at the head office in Germany.
Travel extensively throughout the UK, Ireland and internationally as required including
overnight stays.
What's required:
Must have a mechanical engineering qualification
Must have excellent hands on mechanical skills and knowledge
Excellent customer facing skills, smart, open minded, well organised, motivated and disciplined
Field based role with regular visits to the office, so candidates need to live within an hours drive from Colchester
Must be happy to travel extensively within the UK and abroad 1 or 2 times per year
A full UK Driving License is essential
What's on offer:
Salary £24,487 plus paid overtime OTE £32,000 in first year increasing to £50,000 once fully trained
24 days holiday + bank holidays, additional holiday accrued on all overtime worked.
