Cherry Professional are currently working on a unique opportunity for a Trainee Management Accountant to join our Burton based clients.  Our client is a leading Pharmaceutical company with offices Globally.
 
In this role you will be reporting directly into the Finance Manager and supporting the Finance Team in a variety of Accounting tasks.  The role has come about due to company growth.

Role: Trainee Management Accountant
Location: Burton DE14– Office based
Salary Package: £24,000 - £26,000 + Study Support

The job responsibilities include:

Post transactions in Sage50, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping. 
Produce financial documents and reports as required. 
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and other accounting reports. 
Manage accounts payable by posting and paying supplier invoices in a timely manner. 
Oversee accounts receivable by creating and sending customer invoices and ensuring prompt payment. 
Perform stock take reconciliation, accurately valuing and reporting inventory. 
Complete bank reconciliations, identifying and rectifying discrepancies in financial records. 
Generate Sage50 reports and analyse financial data as needed. 
Prepare and submit VAT returns, reconciling any discrepancies and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. 
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of financial transactions. 
Monitor and control the payables and receivables, ensuring proper documentation and timely processing. 
Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and outstanding balances. 
Communicate with suppliers and customers to resolve any payment issues or discrepancies.  
Requirements:

Demonstrating basic understanding of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to learn and utilize accounting software (Sage50) effectively. 
Ensures accuracy and completeness of financial data, with the ability to identify and rectify errors. 
Prioritizes tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion of assignments and meeting deadlines. 
Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the finance team and liaise with suppliers and customers. 
Demonstrates a willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the role evolves. 
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required. 
Some experience or familiarity with accounting software, specifically Sage50, is a plus. 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
