WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
This is an amazing opportunity for you to start your career in CNC Machining. As a Trainee Machinist you will gain practical experience and focused training within a leading manufacturing organisation. The initial training period of six months will be rotated across various manufacturing cells, supported by our dedicated training specialists to encourage your learning and development.
The first six months of employment will involve working 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 12:00 on Friday, this will be regarded as the initial training period. Following the successful completion of your training you will progress to the next phase of the program, working across various machining centres on a shift pattern (early shift will be 06:00 – 16:00, late shift will be 12:00 – 22:00). Shift workers receive a generous shift allowance provision.
Training Elements
* Phase 1 – Building an understanding of manufacturing and inspection methods.
* Phase 2 – Introduction to manual machines (lathes and milling machines) and basic CNC machines. You will learn to set and operate these machines with mentor assistance.
* Phase 3 – Introduction to full CNC milling machines, lathes, mill turns and pallet-loaded manufacturing systems. First with mentor assistance, then eventually unassisted as well as becoming competent to self-inspect your own work.
