About The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Costs Lawyer to join our high performing Technical Claims Team based out of our central Bristol offices.
The successful candidate will deal with claims for costs payable from our customers’ indemnity, holding responsibility for ensuring appointed solicitors and adverse costs are correctly claimed in accordance with our customer’s policy of insurance and terms of appointment.
Ensuring good customer outcomes are at the heart of everything we do, and excellent communication and negotiation skills are key to this position as you work constructively with our external costs firms and maintain good relationships with our customers appointed solicitors.
About You
We’d like to hear from candidates with experience of working in either a costs, legal, or LEI environment. Ideally you will be familiar with different types of legal matters, however this is not essential and full training will be provided. But, it is important that the successful can demonstrate the following:
* Excellent core abilities including, numeracy, literacy and computer skills, in particular Microsoft Excel.
* The ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality performance against challenging deadlines, KPI’s, targets and SLA’s.
* The ability to work in a team environment, but in the main autonomously and to proactively manage your own caseload to a high standard.
* A proved desire to improve and take ownership of your own personal development and the development of others within the team and wider business
