This is an opportunity to join an established UK business looking to bring in someone with strong commercial potential who can develop into a successful Area Sales Manager.

The business is open-minded on background. You may already have some experience in sales, account management, business development or field marketing and be looking for an opportunity to take greater ownership of customers and a defined territory.

The Business

Our client is a well-established UK business supplying a broad range of products into independent retail and trade customers across the country.

The business has an experienced sales team in place and is looking to invest in someone who can grow into the role, build strong customer relationships and develop their commercial capability over time.

This is a genuine development opportunity rather than a role requiring years of established Area Sales Manager experience.

The Job

Working across the South East, you will gradually take responsibility for an established customer base while also identifying opportunities to win new business and grow the territory.

You will be responsible for:

Managing and developing customer relationships across the region
Growing existing accounts and identifying new sales opportunities
Building strong relationships with independent retailers and trade customers
Planning customer visits and managing your own diary
Developing your understanding of territory management and field sales
Identifying new business opportunities within the region
Working closely with the wider sales team to support growth
Building strong product and market knowledge
Representing the business professionally with customers

The Candidate

You will be commercially minded, confident with customers and motivated to develop your career in field sales.

You could currently be working within:

Sales
Business development
Account management
Field marketing
Retail development
Territory sales
Graduate sales
A structured sales training or development programmeYou will ideally demonstrate:

Some previous sales or commercial experience
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Confidence speaking with customers
A proactive and self-motivated approach
Good organisation and time management
Commercial awareness
A genuine desire to develop within field sales
A full UK driving licencePrevious experience within the specific market is not essential.

The business is more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, potential and willingness to learn than someone who has already spent several years managing a territory.

The Package

Basic salary around £35,000-£40,00 depending on experience
Bonus opportunity of up to 40% of salary
