THE ROLE - SAFETY CRITICAL:
Control all vehicle movements on and off a live construction site. You are the only person allowed to direct plant and delivery vehicles. Safety Critical status means you have legal responsibility for pedestrian / vehicle interface - Zero tolerance on phones / ear pods.KEY all site entry / exit - check vehicle bookings, delivery notes, driver inductionsDirect all HGV's, low-loaders, concrete wagons, telehandlers, forklifts via radio and hand signalsBanksman duties for reversing vehicles - full 360 walkaround, no one under loadMaintain segregated pedestrian routes - barriers, signage, conesManage holding area / waiting bay - no more than 2 vehicles on site at onceEscort delivery vehicles to laydown areas - liaise with crane supervisor / lifting teamEnsure all vehicles have wheel wash, sheeted loads, valid permitsStop all works if pedestrians enter exclusion zone - you have Stop Work AuthorityComplete vehicle log book, delivery register, daily plant inspection check for your areaReport near misses, unsafe drivers, damaged gates/barriersAttend daily briefing / DABSESSENTIAL - SAFETY CRITICAL C Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman ticket - NPORS N403 / CPCS A73 or LANTRA / ALLMI equivalentCSCS Green or Blue Card - in dateSafety Critical Medical - MUST HAVE - In date within last 12 months - includes D&A test, BP, vision, audiometry. No medical = no start on most Tier 1 sitesFace Fit Test - dust maskFull 5-point PPE - Hi-vis orange with Traffic Marshal on back, hard hat, gloves, boots, glassesMinimum 2 years experience as Traffic Marshal on major construction sitesRadio comms experience - clear English, confident, loud voiceHIGHLY Safety Passport (required for EfW / CCS / Power Station)Fire Marshal ticketFirst Aid at Work (3-day or 1-day)Experience on EfW / Power Station / Data Centre / Infrastructure where 50+ deliveries per daySlinger / Signaller awarenessWHAT MAKES SAFETY CRITICAL will be D&A tested randomly - 0 toleranceYou cannot take medication that causes drowsiness - must declareYou must have medical certificate on file with H&SYou must not leave your gate/post unless relievedYou must understand FORS, CLOCS, and pedestrian segregation plansYou are responsible for checking drivers have not been on road more than allowed compliance with Construction Logistics Plan, Traffic Management Plan, CDM RegsRAMS, Toolbox Talks, Permit to WorkHousekeeping of gatehouse and wheel wash areaNOT SUITABLE only / Security guard without Banksman ticketLabourers without Safety Critical MedicalApply with: CV + CSCS + Traffic Marshal Ticket + Safety Critical Medical Cert + 2 references
