Description:
Our client is looking for a Traffic Engineer to join their Network Management Team to provide continued support to ongoing Network Management projects, principally (but not exclusively) completion of TROs for capital programme legacy schemes including TCAP, MCF, Markets and Underbanks.
Provision of the professional services of a suitably degree-qualified (or time-served) Traffic Engineer.
The Engineer should have experience of developing new and amending existing Traffic Regulation Orders, Moving Traffic Regulation Orders for capital programme schemes and network management schemes.
The role is to be based in Stockport in a hybrid working arrangement to mirror the Network Management team’s working pattern (minimum two days per week).
Workstreams will be principally (but not exclusively):
* Advise and design of TROs.
* Proficiently us AutoCAD/Keyline/Keysign.
* Providing TRO processing support for schemes within the council’s 24/25 capital programme.
* Providing assessment of existing moving traffic regulation orders, producing the related technical reports.
Qualifications / experience:
* Degree or HNC/D qualified in a relevant discipline, or significant relevant experience.
* Experience in drafting and making all types of TRO’s
* Knowledge of relevant highway law including the Highways Act 1980, RTRA1984, TSRGD 2016, LATOPR 1996, Traffic Signs Manual Signs and Road Markings.
* Experience of working in a highways environment and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, members, clients and members of the public.
* IT literate. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications. Experience of GIS and CAD packages would be advantageous.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence peers.
* Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions on a day-to-day basis.
* Ability to drive and undertake site visits.
The “secondment” will be based on 40 hours a week
