Good Afternoon,
I am currently representing Southwark Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience
We are looking for a Traffic Manager this role will be: SE1 2QH
The right candidate will:
* Project manage the initial phases of capital projects principally related to highways. This will include managing initial feasibility, undertaking community engagement and consultation and managing the preliminary and outline design phases and securing all necessary approvals
* Support the Principal Project Manager in similar activities on larger projects
* Provide expert advice to senior colleagues on community engagement and street design
* Work independently and with a high level of creativity within broad instructions and objectives provided by the Principal Project Manager. This will include drafting complex reports, committee items and briefings for Senior Managers and Members, managing detailed funding applications, project briefs and tender documents.
* Independently make recommendations for action contained in individual projects including balancing of competing needs and priorities. Develop and steer own work programme in conjunction with line manager.
* Manage a large portfolio of projects with a total value of up to £1m, and to maintain quality management systems to monitor and control contract expenditure and performance against project specifications. Also to manage capital funding applications and all consequent awards, and prepare detailed financial returns to internal and external funding agencies.
We require the following:
* Proven experience of delivering complex capital projects, on time, within budget and to the required quality standard.
* Knowledge of all aspects of capital project management from feasibility to implementation; of all aspects of contract specification, letting, monitoring and the associated processes and procedures including quality systems
* A degree or equivalent preferably in an engineering, transport or project management field. In-depth experience in an appropriate field can be substituted for formal qualifications.
