Description:
A North West Local Authority is seeking an experienced Trading Standards Officer to join their team on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy and collaborative service, undertaking a varied caseload across a range of Trading Standards functions, including consumer protection, fair trading, product safety, underage sales, and business compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver frontline Trading Standards enforcement and advisory work.
* Investigate complaints and undertake compliance visits.
* Conduct inspections, investigations and enforcement activities in accordance with relevant legislation.
* Prepare reports, witness statements and enforcement documentation where required.
* Provide advice and guidance to local businesses and members of the public.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working within a Local Authority Trading Standards service.
* Trading Standards qualification (DCATS/DTS or equivalent).
* Proven experience handling a broad range of Trading Standards matters.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and enforcement procedures.
* Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
Desirable:
* Animal Feed qualification and experience would be highly desirable and considered a significant advantage.
