Job Title: Town Planner

Location: Kent

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their fast-paced and friendly team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner with 2+ years' experience who is looking to develop their career within a consultancy offering a genuinely varied project portfolio across the South of England.

You'll have the opportunity to work across Residential, Education, Strategic and Commercial projects, gaining exposure to a wide range of clients and development proposals.

The Role

Working as part of an established planning team, you'll support and manage a variety of projects while developing your client-facing and project management experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing smaller planning projects from inception through to completion
* Supporting medium and large-scale projects alongside senior planning professionals
* Liaising directly with clients, Local Planning Authorities and external consultants
* Attending client and project meetings
* Working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team
* Preparing planning reports, statements and supporting documentation
* Undertaking planning research and providing advice across a range of development projects
* Supporting the delivery of Residential, Education, Strategic and Commercial schemes
* Managing your workload effectively and ensuring deadlines are met
* Developing strong commercial awareness and understanding of the development process
* Contributing to the wider growth and success of the planning teamThe Candidate

We're looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Town Planner who enjoys working in a fast-paced consultancy environment and is keen to progress their career.

You'll ideally have:

2+ years' experience within town planning
* Working towards MRTPI/RTPI chartership
* Experience within a planning consultancy or relevant planning environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organisation and attention to detail
* The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
* A commercial mindset and genuine interest in property and development
* Confidence when dealing with clients and professional stakeholders
* A full UK driving licenceThe Package
