The Opportunity

We are working with a forward-thinking local authority to recruit an experienced Interim Tourism Project Manager to support delivery of a high profile tourism mitigation programme linked to the Sizewell C (SZC) development.
This is a dynamic and varied role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, and enjoys working across public facing initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and creative project delivery.

The Role

You will play a key role in managing and delivering projects within a substantial tourism mitigation fund, working closely with internal teams, external partners, and the wider local business community.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing a portfolio of tourism projects and initiatives as part of an annual implementation plan
Supporting delivery of both the Tourism Implementation Plan and Accommodation Plan
Leading on programme promotion, communications, and stakeholder engagement
Managing consultants and external contractors, including commissioning and contract oversight
Building and maintaining strong partnerships with regional tourism bodies and local businesses
Setting up and facilitating networking groups across the visitor economy
Monitoring programme impact and supporting reporting to senior stakeholders and boards
Managing budgets and ensuring strong governance and value for money
This is a highly visible role requiring strong communication skills, as you will be working across public facing initiatives and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including businesses, partners, and elected members.

About You

We're looking for a proactive, creative and highly organised project professional who can "spin multiple plates" and drive delivery at pace.
You will bring:

Proven project management experience (ideally within tourism, regeneration, or public sector programmes)
Experience managing consultants and external suppliers
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously
A creative approach to problem solving and programme delivery
Confidence working in a public-facing and politically sensitive environment
A good understanding of the tourism, culture, and place-based agenda is desirable.

Additional Requirements

Hybrid working with approximately one day per week in the office
Full UK driving licence and access to a car (occasional travel across the region required)
