Toolroom Engineer / Permanent position / Beccles / Salary £37,405 per annum.

Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a skilled Toolroom Engineer (CNC/Machining) to join our client’s team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their career while working with precision tooling, advanced machinery, and a fast-paced production environment focused on sustainable packaging.

This is a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Thursday 07:00 am – 16:00 pm; Friday 07:00 am – 13:00 pm.

As a Toolroom Engineer, you will be responsible for manufacturing, maintaining, and repairing precision tooling used in production. You will provide engineering support to manufacturing areas, ensuring tools and equipment operate efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards.

You will work closely with production teams and the Toolroom Manager to support continuous improvement and minimise downtime across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manufacture new tooling using a range of machine tools and equipment (including milling and turning)

* Maintain, repair, and modify existing tooling to ensure optimal performance

* Provide engineering support to production areas when tooling or equipment issues arise

* Operate CNC machinery (Hurco and Fanuc experience desirable)

* Ensure all work complies with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards

* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment following good housekeeping standards

* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in tooling and processes

* Work independently to complete tasks and take accountability for work completed

* Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and production teams

* Work as part of a team to meet production and engineering objectives

* Adapt to changing priorities as required by production demands

You will hold:

· NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

· Experience in a hands-on engineering or technical environment

· Milling and turning skills

· CNC machining experience (Hurco/Fanuc experience is a plus)
