Toolmaker
Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk | Permanent | £30,000 – £40,000 DOE
We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist manufacturer based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This is a hands-on toolroom role supporting production by maintaining, repairing and manufacturing tooling and machine components to tight tolerances.
The role
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on a range of precision tooling
Operate manual milling machines, lathes and surface grinders
Read, interpret and work from technical drawings
Collaborate and support with the production team
Play a part in ongoing improvements to tooling and processes
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a toolmaker or precision machinist in a production environment
Strong knowledge of toolroom equipment and practices
Good problem-solving skills and ability to work to deadlines
Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or toolmaking (desirable)
