Polypipe Building Products are focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products.

We are currently recruiting for a Toolmaker to join the team at our Broomhouse Lane site based at Edlington, Doncaster. The successful candidate will be working alongside the team Maintaining, Repairing, Modifying and Manufacturing tooling and aid all other engineering requirements.

Working Hours:

This role is a full time, permanent position working Monday - Friday, 8:00am until 4:30pm. With 30 minutes unpaid lunch break.

Responsibilities:

* Manufacture, modification, repair, and refurbishment (up to 12 tonnes) of tooling across the business.

* Using recognised problem-solving techniques to analyse tooling problems.

* Prioritise workload through discussion with the moulding management team.

* Carry out regular service of tooling and tool checks in line with the production plan that will be reviewed daily

* Regular Servicing of Tooling

* Work on the tooling that has been red tagged for improvement or modification

* Work entered into the database and supported with a shift report

* Ensure that all work is completed on the data base.

* Ensure any tooling taken into the Tool Room to be worked upon is sent back out fully cleaned.

* Assist in the upkeep and housekeeping of the Toolroom as required.

* All tooling sent back out to production is to the check process standard, cleaned and checked on the correct inserts ready for the production run.

* Any other duty as required by the moulding management team.

* Any tooling serviced/checked for production to fill in the check sheet and hand in to the administration team.

* Ensure activities are carried out whilst complying with all measures introduced by the company with respect to Health, Safety and the Environment. In particular, to comply with all procedures, safe working methods and practices and agreed rules to protect your own Health and Safety as well as others that may be affected by your actions, or omissions.

* Fully support the Health and Safety and Environmental Policy, as laid down in the Company procedures.

Skills & Requirements:

* Strong understanding of manufacturing new tooling from Detailed drawings.

* Knowledge of using conventional milling machines, lathes and surface grinder is beneficial.

* Hot runner electrical knowledge would be beneficial but training will be provided

* Excellent timekeeping

* Good communication skills

* Ability to work as part of a team.

* Apprentice Trained injection moulding toolmaker.

* Knowledge of servicing and maintaining mould tooling.

* Extrusion experience would be beneficial but is not essential
