As a Barclays Toolchain Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our strategic Toolchain Platform. This is an exciting role, as yoy will be working directly with Development teams across the lines of Business to facilitate the migration to the new platform, whilst delivering a best in class Enterprise Toolchain. You will work within the Chief Technical Office, where we provide world class products and services to our technology partners in the Bank, as well as solutions and outcomes for our clients and customers.

What will you be doing?
• You will be engineering strategic products, solutions and processes to be consumed across all technology partners within Barclays
• Authoring documentation and patterns for development teams to follow as required 
• Writing scripts and pipelines to build, test, scan and deploy software 
• Demonstrating broad-ranging expertise across technologies for the Toolchain Platform
• Providing subject matter expertise and technical guidance for engineering initiatives across the development teams that we support
• Working as part of an integrated team with the Bank’s other software engineers to ensure that engineering standards are aligned and coordinated across domains
• Respecting the opinions of the broader software engineering community, seeking ideas, opinions, and feedback for continuous improvement of the service offered

What we’re looking for:
• Hands-on engineer with a passion for building world class engineering solutions
• Proven track record of delivering within complex enterprise domains
• Experience of Software Development in Java /Python /C# or equivalent
• Deep technical passion and interest in modern technologies and methodologies

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Problem-solving skills in deeply technical domains
• Experience of Public Cloud implementations
• Experience of DevSecOps and Pipeline construction
• Ability to provide technical leadership and direction
