Tool Setter

Reporting To

Manufacturing Manager

Job Purpose

To carry out efficient tool changes and machine set-ups within a plastics manufacturing environment, ensuring production machines operate safely and efficiently while producing moulded plastic components to the required quality standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out tool changes and machine set-ups within agreed target times in line with the production plan.
Ensure machines are running efficiently following set-up and report any issues affecting production performance.
Assist with process improvements and continuous improvement activities where required.
Ensure all ancillary equipment and tooling are stored safely, securely, and in a clean condition.
Complete all relevant tool change and production documentation accurately and in line with company procedures.
Maintain high housekeeping standards across work areas, machinery, equipment, and tooling.
Work safely at all times and follow company health & safety procedures and safe systems of work.
Wear the required PPE at all times within the manufacturing environment.
Report tooling, machinery, or maintenance issues promptly to management or engineering teams.
Support production teams to minimise downtime and maintain output targets.
Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators, quality, and maintenance departments.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience within plastics manufacturing or injection moulding preferred.
Experience completing tool changes and machine set-ups.
Good understanding of health & safety within manufacturing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Good problem-solving and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable

Experience with injection moulding machinery.
Knowledge of continuous improvement processes.
FLT licence advantageous.
Working Hours

Rotational shifts:

06:00 14:00
14:00 22:00
Overtime may be available depending on business requirements.
